About

The idea of doing a website about our family had been germinating for a few years. At least in my mind it was. But one hot August day it finally sprouted after a conversation with a few of my cousins at our monthly family luncheon. We decided that the history of our family was too valuable to be lost for future generations. Our family was documented as being early pioneers in Wisconsin, so there was already an interesting start to our story. We also had inherited much research from various family members which included copious amounts of photos and documents which were decaying from old age. So here it is, a mix of genealogical research and family anecdotes to pass on to the next generation. A portion of this information remains private to respect the living. This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
